One of the most reliable and highest quality 3D printers available, we would like to add a second Ultimaker to our MakerSpace. We will use the new Ultimaker for printing patrons’ original designs and inventions to replace the UPrint industrial printer giving us more efficient and higher quality products.
Glowforge is a wireless, desktop 3D laser printer that will give our makers endless flexibility. Using CAD, we can help to create all kinds of items from a variety of different materials like wood, leather, felt, fabric, acrylic, paper, and more.
The new MakerSpace will be more of a production lab than ever before, and the ShopBot is an essential tool to add to our inventory. In addition to impressive woodworking capabilities, the Desktop delivers engraving level precision and the power and rigidity to machine parts from wood, plastic, aluminum, and other materials. The Desktop can perform a wide range of workbench, prototyping and production projects.
3D scanners create printable 3D models fairly quickly and easily. We’ve long been eager to add an outstanding 3D scanner to help patrons with their prototypes.
We plan to use a variety of compressor tools (like a pneumatic nail gun) in the new MakerSpace, so this is a must-have so this noisy work can coexist with other activities in the Library.

Tools like a shaft grinder, a bench-top buffer, and a mini-drill press will help us become even more of a production center.
We are looking to upgrade to a programmable vinyl cutter. With it, we’ll be able to offer more industrial uses like custom signage, vehicle decals, and window graphics.
We’ve had lots of fun programs involving silk screening, so this press will be utilized for a number of projects like woodworking.
Our soldering programs are always popular, and we already have an array of soldering irons and materials. The fume extractor will allow us to do our soldering programs from anywhere giving us mobility and flexibility.
An O-Scope will help us when working with circuitry. We’ll be able to determine things like frequency, noise, or amplitude.
